Admission Requirements to the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras
1. Complete the application online at http://estudiantes.upr.edu/admisiones/index.php. This application is available from October 1, 2012-February 28, 2013. After February 28, 2013, applications will not be accepted for the academic year 2013-2014.
2. Complete the Bilingual Initiative Profile Form and make sure that you meet the requirements of the Bilingual Initiative. Send the Profile Form via e-mail to [email protected] and keep a copy for your records.
3. Take the Scholastic Aptitudes Test (SAT) and three Subject Tests of the SAT: English (Literature), Mathematics (Level I or II), and Spanish. Send an official copy of the results to the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras. The code of the University of Puerto Rico for the SAT is 0979.
4. Pay the application fee of $20 (if the application is sent by December 14, 2012) or $40 (if the application is sent by February 28, 2012) online at http://estudiantes.upr.edu/admisiones/index.php. A money order or personal check for the application fee can also be sent to the following address: Oficina de Admisiones, Jardín Botánico Sur, 1187 Calle Flamboyán, San Juan, PR 00926-1117. If sending the application fee by mail, please print the confirmation form of your application and send it with the payment. Please note that the application fee is nonrefundable.
5. Send a copy of your official transcript, including the grades of your first semester of your senior year in high school, by January 31, 2013. If your school does not use the 4.0 scale, then you must convert the grades. In addition, the transcript must have an authorized signature of your school’s registrar, official seal or stamp of the school, and your social security number. Please send the official transcript to the following address: Oficina de Admisiones, Jardín Botánico Sur, 1187 Calle Flamboyán, San Juan, PR 00926-1117.
6. Be a high school graduate, a candidate for graduation in May 2013 from a high school licensed by the College Board, or have a GED. You must send evidence of your high school’s accreditation to the following address: Oficina de Admisiones, Jardín Botánico Sur, 1187 Calle Flamboyán, San Juan, PR 00926-1117.
