Pell Grant
Approximately, 62% of undergraduate students at the UPR are eligible for the Pell Grant Program. This federal program offers financial aid to undergraduate students in order for them to complete their bachelor's degree.
The eligibility of the student is determined by the economic background of each applicant, specifically the family income, properties, number of family members, and number of family members attending college.
The financial aid is also dependent on the cost of credits and if the student is enrolled part-time, full-time, or a total of less than twelve credits per semester.

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)
This program provides additional money in scholarships to help, specifically, undergraduate students. The priority in the concsesion of this grant will be based on the economic necessity and the number of credits leading to the enrolled degree. This financial aid is provided until the budget is depleted.
LEAP Program
This program offers financial aid to students with extreme economic necessity. The money comes from both federal and state funds.
ACG (Academic Competitiveness Grant) Program
ACG is a federal program that provides funds for students during their freshmen and sophmore years. It is a complementary program from the PELL Grant and helps students of high academic performance. Applicants could receive up to $750.00 in their freshmen year and up to $1,300.00 in theeir sophmore year.
SMART Program
Students in their junior and senior year are eligible for this program if they are studying science, mathematics, or language. The applicant must be participating in the PELL Grant program. If eligible, students could receive up to $4,000.00 in addition to the funds provided by the PELL Grant. For more information, visit the Financial Aid Office in Plaza Universitaria.
