honor students enrollment
Students with Honor grades will receive Honor tuition waiver for the second academic year at the University of Puerto Rico if they qualify as a regular student. This means that the student will receive a tuition waiver from the sophmore year if the student maintains a GPA of 3.50 or more and if the cumulative achievement in the program enrolled places them at the top five percent (5%) of their class. To receive this benefit, students must pass a total of 12 credits or more each semester.
In order to enjoy the privilege of the Honor tuition waiver, scholars must enroll in a regular program. For tuition purposes, a regular program is 12 credits per semester in regular courses, 7 or more credits per sesion in UNEX courses, or 4 credits in the summer session.
This privilege is canceled if the student completes a semester with less than 12 credits or less than 4 credits in a summer session.
To preserve the exemption, students must maintain a GPA of 3.50 or more by the end of each academic year leading to the degree.
